Frequently Asked Questions 

 

 

Do classes taken through FFSA qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

Yes!  All classes taken through FFSA have been approved by the Florida State Fire College for Continuing Education Units.  ALL CLASSES are APPROVED for Contractor I, II and Waterbased Inspectors.  Additionally, some classes are also approved for Contractor III, IV and V.  Please see the course description to identify the CEU approval for each class.  Florida mandated CEU requirements for Business Practices, Workers Compensation and Workplace Safety are also available.  Look for "Mandatory" in the title for those mandated courses.  Certificates can also be submitted to NICET for approved training credits. 

 

Does FFSA offer courses to meet the Mandated Florida required classes?

Yes!  FFSA offers classes to meet all FL Mandated course requirements.  The mandated courses are offered individually or as part of the 32 hour Training Bundle.

 

Where can I find classes I have purchased?

All classes which have been purchased are available under your account.  Log in to training.floridafiresprinkler.com and select "My Account" from the top right side of the page and then select "Classes" from the menu options on the left.  All classes will be listed individually even if purchased as part of a package.

Please note: all individual classes must be completed, including the quiz, within 30 days of purchase. Training Bundle packages are given 60 days to complete, including the quiz.  Classes not completed within the required time frame will expire and will be required to be re-purchased.  

 

Where are the classes from the Training Bundle Package I ordered?

All classes will be listed individually even if purchased as part of a package. Classes can be taken in any order.  All classes which have been purchased are available under your account.  Log in to training.floridafiresprinkler.com and select "My Account" from the top right side of the page and then select "Classes" from the menu options on the left.  

Please note, all individual classes must be completed, including the quiz, within 30 days of purchase.  Training bundle purchases must be taken within 60 days of purchase.  Classes will expire from your account after the above noted time frame and will be required to be re-purchased. Note: Certificates for completed classes will be available online as long as you have an active account.

 

How long do I have to take the class?

All individual classes are available for 30 days from the date of purchase.   All classes within a Training Bundle are available for 60 days from the date of purchase.  Classes will expire from your account after the noted time period and will be required to be re-purchased.  Note: Certificates for completed classes will be available online as long as you have an active account.

 

When can I take the online class?

Online classes can be taken at your convenience, any time of day, from any location with a good internet connection.  

 

What if I fail the quiz?

Each online class has a short quiz at the end of the video.  Participants must pass the quiz prior to receiving their CEUs and certificate.  Participants have FOUR opportunities to pass the quiz.  If the quiz is not passed by the fourth attempt, the participant will be required to purchase the class again and pass the quiz to receive the CEUs and certificate.

 

Where is my certificate?

Certificates are available for download and saving or printing once the quiz has been passed.  To access your certificates, log in to training.floridafiresprinkler.com and select "My Account" from the top right side of the page.  A link to your certificate is located under "Accounts Detail"  menu option directly under each class CEU value.  Click the "Cert" link and your certificate will be available for download or printing.  

 

When will my CEUs be posted to the Fire College system?

CEU's are only entered into the Fire College system January 1 - June 30 of the renewal year.  Any participant taking an online seminars outside of January 1 - June 30 of the renewal year will need submit certificate of completion.  ALL online seminars are approved by the Fire College and qualify for CEUs towards Contractor I, II, V or Waterbased Inspectors (refer to course description for qualifications).  

During a renewal year, beginning January 1, rosters for completed online seminars will be submitted to the Fire College and should post to your account within 30 days of seminar completion.  

NOTE: CEUs will only be entered into the Fire College system if a Student ID is provided.  If a Student ID is not provided, it is the responsibility of the individual to provide documentation of completion.

 

How do I get my Student ID?

Student IDs are issued by the Florida Fire College.  If you do not have a Student ID you will need to contact the Florida Fire College directly.  

If you have a Student ID but did not enter it upon setting up your profile, you can update your Account information by logging into training.floridafiresprinkler.com and click on "My Account" and select "My Account" from the top right side of the page and then selecting "Account Details" from the menu on the left.  Select "Update Account Info" from the bottom of this section to update any account information.  If the Student ID is updated more than 30 days after taking the class please ensure you notify Holly Garvey at garvey@nfsa.org.

 

What if the video will not play? 

All videos are embedded into the FFSA Training site via Vimeo.  The videos are compatible for both PCs and Macs.  If you are having issues, the following are trouble shooting steps which may be helpful:

1. Refresh the web page.

2. Shut down and restart the Web Browser.

3. Restart your computer

If you continue to have technical issues, please contact your on-site IT representative.
